Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can you give me prices for Invitations/Stationery?

Cherish is all about personal service and designing to individual taste so I can only offer accurate prices after I have met with you, seen your colours and gained a sense of what sorts of things you like/wish. Often people do not realise the range of styles of stationary available and will often change their minds when they see lots of options that I can offer. It is only from talking with you that designs truly emerge and sample materials and colours can  then be gathered so that you can see different possibilities.  All Cherish customers note how much they value this.  Once the designs are finalised , after usually one or two meetings, prices can then be worked out on the basis of materials required, how easy colours are to match to and how long things take to make. We will also consider such things as whether you require RSVPs, Additional Information notes for your guests, guest names to be printed in, Menu selectors etc.

2. Do I have to choose from Cherish samples?

The simple answer is NO!!  The samples are only there to give you ideas and to see what is possible.  Samples allows you to see Cherish work up close, the quality of the materials used and the standard of careful workmanship that goes into each piece which can never be gained from photos alone.  Seeing ideas will start to give you ideas of what you might like too and may broaden your horizons further as to what you might like.  Every piece of stationery made, is to each individual’s choices so it is unlikely that you will see two sets of stationery that are identical.

3. Where do consultations take place? Does Cherish have a shop?

As Cherish does not have shop premises, Kathy can arrange either a home visit (if you are close to Helensburgh), can meet you at your Reception venue if it is in the local area or at one of the lovely coffee venues around Loch Lomond. The only thing required is a table to spread things out on.  Typically a first consultation will take about 1 1/2-2 hours or so which gives Kathy a chance to hear about your Wedding/celebrations plans and wishes and to also gain a sense of what you are looking for.  If you have specific colours that you are wishing to work with, tartans or themes, do be sure to bring these along with you too.

6. Do you provide samples of stationery?

Cherish aims to be flexible with appointments so can meet during the week in day time or evenings, and also during the day at the weekend.  It is usually advised when considering colours and matching, that this be done during day light.  Cherish is prompt at responding to messages and can be contacted by telephone between 10am and 6pm (with an answer machine for all other times).  Emails and Facebook messages sent in an evening will be responded to the following morning.  Do go to the Contact Page and make a request for an appointment with Kathy and ask any questions that are not covered by this page.


During the winter months, day light is in short supply and is therefore very precious for getting stationery orders completed hence any messages will be replied to later in the day.



The simple answer to this is YES!!  If you look at the Testimonial page you will se that Cherish customers are from around the UK and abroad as well as from Glasgow, Loch Lomond and surrounding areas.  Best results for stationery tend to be achieved from at least one face to face consultation as so much can be learnt and achieved in this meeting and you are more likely to feel satisfied that you have seen all the possible options available to you. From discussions with you, ideas tend to emerge and creativity starts to flow easily and this process tends to make everything easier and quicker ultimately for you.  You will appreciate this time being spent with you and seeing colours, styles and options as well as feeling listened to - contact Kathy to discuss further!

Yes, but only after a consultation with you as then you get the stationery samples in exactly the right colours and designs to suit your taste.  Due to the volume of work that Cherish enjoys, we are unable to offer samples to initial telephone or email enquiries so instead would suggest that you Contact Kathy to arrange a meeting.  When samples are made for you, a deposit is required, which is then subsequently deducted off your final bill.

7. How soon before my Wedding should we contact you?

As soon as you know your colours/themes that you wish to work with, then you are ready to pick your stationery.  Ideally you should be booking a consultation at least 6 months but no more than 18 months before your Wedding.  This gives us plenty of time for samples to be made, designs to be finalised, materials to be ordered and stationery to be made.  Working in these time frames means that you will not be proof reading in haste and thus tends to be more enjoyable as you will not be feeling so pressured.

Kathy CAN make stationery at short notice but this will be dependent upon the volume of work that Cherish is managing.  Kathy will always try and help so DO ask!  See Contact Page

8. Can Cherish make other things besides Wedding Invitations?

Yes, very much so.  Typical things that Cherish makes includes Save the Dates, RSVPS, Menu Selctors, Other Invite inserts, Addressed envelopes, Orders of Service, Orders of the Day, Menus, Seating Plans, Place cards, Table Names/Numbers, Favour Tags and boxes, Guest books, Post boxes to keep, Keep sake boxes, Wedding Anniversary invitations, Birthday invitations, Christening invites plus corporate gift wrapping.  If you have something in mind, do Contact Cherish.

Cherish is very much about what your wishes are, and this includes ordering the numbers that you ACTUALLY require rather than being tied to set numbers so we do not offer packages as such.  Cherish can make everything from your Save the Dates through to everything needed on the day of your celebration so we price competitively taking account of the time that Kathy will spend with you and replying to your messages, sourcing the quality materials that are a Cherish trademark as well as the time taken taken to make each piece of stationery for you.

The answer is usually yes and it is music to Kathy’s ears when asked to make things that are unique for a customer.  In the 8 years of having Cherish, she has made invitations that look like vinyl records, cow inspired invites for a farming couple, football shirts, ice hockey shirts for table names and table plans, cat inspired invites (including muddy paw prints!), Favours with different sweets, distillery inspired invites and menus, venue inspired invitations and so the list goes on.  Make contact with Kathy and run your ideas past her!!
